VetCTAP Announces Conclusion of Operations After 14 Years of Service to the Military Community

March 1, 2026 - San Diego, CA — After 14 years of supporting transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses, VetCTAP has announced it will discontinue future operations and begin an orderly wind-down. Class 94, completed on February 4, 2026, marked the organization’s final workshop series.

Founded to increase veteran employment rates, VetCTAP specialized in serving senior-level transitioning service members (10+ years of service) and military spouses. Through its structured 24-hour workshop model, the organization provided hands-on job search training, practical tools, and individualized coaching designed to build confidence and economic stability.

Over its operational history, VetCTAP delivered 94 cohorts and maintained careful stewardship of donor and grant funds, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and alignment with donor intent. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization adapted programming to maintain continuity of service.

The Board of Directors made the decision following thoughtful evaluation of succession planning, leadership transitions, and long-term sustainability. The decision reflects organizational capacity considerations rather than program performance.

“We are proud of what was accomplished and deeply grateful to the veterans, spouses, volunteers, partners, and donors who made this work possible,” said Janis Whitaker. “The impact of this program continues through the lives and careers of those we served.”

All remaining obligations will be fulfilled responsibly, and restricted funds will be used in accordance with donor intent.
