Our mission at the (VBOC) is to help create, develop, and retain veteran-owned small business enterprises. The VBOC Program is funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Veteran Business Development. The program is designed to provide entrepreneurial development services such as business training, counseling and mentoring, and referrals for eligible veterans owning or considering starting a small business enterprise.

Onward to Opportunity in Partnership with the Veterans Career Transition Program (O2O-VCTP) is a free career training program that provides professional certification and job placement support to transitioning service members, veterans and military spouses. O2O-VCTP combines industry-validated curricula, strong partnerships with leading veteran service organizations and private sector companies, and comprehensive career coaching services to prepare and match you with your next career.

Operation Connect is a free program for transitioning vets that guides them through the often murky process of finding a compatible private sector career. Our specialty is "How to Network". Networking skills are vital in today's job market where 80% of jobs are filled through referrals or connections. Learn the secrets to effective networking. The program consists of a one-day training class, assignment of a personal mentor from the private sector and a 6 month membership in the North San Diego Business Chamber where the vet can attend monthly Mixers attended by 150-200 business leaders. It is a career training course that is all about the world of contemporary business – an inside look at how it works, expectations of employers, biases, organization, culture, and your new career fit within it. It is taught by experienced business executives and panelists from across the country, several who were Marine and Navy Officers. It is offered free to all transitioning and retired career military Officers and senior enlisted personnel (E-6 & above), regardless of branch of service.
